5 Series E39 530d (M57) SAL
Coat conrod bearing shells with oil.
Place bearing caps in position, making sure that matching
numbers are paired.
Install new connecting-rod screws.
Tighten down conrod bolts with special tool 00 9 120 or special
tool 11 2 110.
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 24 1AZ.
Note:
Observe installation direction of reinforcement shell (1).
Arrows point forwards.
Install reinforcement shell (1).
Tighten down hexagon bolts.
Clean sealing surface.
Installation:
Replace gasket between oil intake neck (2) and oil
pump (4).
Install oil pump (4).
Tighten down screws (3).
Fit oil intake neck (2).
Tighten down screws (1).
Assemble engine.
