Removing and installing/replacing hydraulic
chain tensioner (M57)
Special tools required:
•
11 3 340
Remove front timing case cover.
Press clamping rail (1) in direction of arrow and insert special
tool 11 3 340 into chain tensioner (3).
Loosen screws (2).
Remove chain tensioner (3).
Warning!
Tensioner pistons are under spring pressure.
Risk of injury during removal of plug mandrels.
