5 Series E39 530d (M57) SAL
Release screws (1).
Remove air duct (2).
Note:
Do not damage oil-filter cap, release and tighten with socket
only.
When the oil-filter cap is opened, the oil flows from the oil-
water heat exchanger back into the sump.
Release screw (1) on return pipe.
Release cover (2).
Remove oil-filter element.
Disconnect plug (3) from oil pressure switch.
Installation:
Replace sealing rings and coat with oil.
Note:
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Disconnect fuel lines (1).
Unfasten nuts (2).
Remove fuel filter (3).
Lay fuel cooler (4) to one side.
