Removing and Installing Exhaust Turbocharger (M57) - 5 Series E39 530d
Release banjo bolt (1).
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data, 11 65 7AZ
.
Disconnect oil line (2).
Note:
Seal connection of oil line and bore in crankcase with a cap or
similar.
Installation:
Replace sealing rings.
Release screws (1).
Remove both brackets and lay to one side.
Installation:
Layout of vacuum hoses for exhaust turbocharger,
Refer to 11 74 ..
.
Remove sealing cover (1) from heat shield. Remove seal plugs
upwards.
Installation:
The retaining clip (1) on the sealing cover (2) must be inserted
on the heat shield.
