5 Series E39 530d (M57) SAL
Remove glow plugs.
Note:
Engine speed must be the same for measurements on individual
injectors. Permitted tolerance of engine speed is
±
2 %.
Check battery and connect start assist device.
Disconnect pressure line between pressure accumulator and
injector of cylinder 1.
This operation is described in the section "Replacing all pressure
lines".
Screw special tool 13 5 413 onto exposed connection of
pressure accumulator.
Tightening torque 13 53 8AZ
.
Connect BMW diagnosis system and display rail pressure and
engine speed via Control unit functions/ Diagnosis request.
Operate starter for approx. 5 seconds and read off and note down
values for rail pressure and engine speed.
Reconnect injector of 1st cylinder.
Repeat measurement for all injectors. Only one injector at any one
time may be disconnected from the pressure accumulator.
