Replacing control unit (DDE) for M47 and M57
Follow instructions for removing and installing electronic
control units,
refer to General Information in MG 12.
Read fault memory of DDE control unit. Switch off ignition.
Follow instructions for disconnecting and connecting
battery,
refer to General Information MG 12.
Disconnect and cover battery negative lead.
Installation location of control unit:
In electronic box in direction of travel, right.
Release retaining clips (1).
Caution!
The air duct can brake at the firewall if not carefully removed
and installed.
Turn air duct clockwise until it is no longer locked in firewall.
Pull air duct forwards and remove towards top.
Release retaining bracket (2).
Remove microfilter housing cover (3).
Open spring (4) and pull microfilter housing upwards.
Move microfilter housing to the right and remove upwards.
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 12 90 4AZ .
Remove electronics box cover (2).
Disconnect plug connections (1) from control unit (2).
Unlock retaining clips and remove control unit (1) upwards.
