Mark out connection point in cover for side member in front of side
panel:

Dimension (A) = 40 mm from center of bore 

∅

 12 mm.

Mark cutting line, B-pillar.

Reference edge = edge of hinge over locating bore or locating
taper for doors

E = 380 mm

F = 470 mm

Reference edge = lower edge of roof

C = 150 mm

D = 240 mm

Caution!

Protect ITS head airbag so that it cannot be damaged during
welding or grinding work.

Due to

- 

welding chips

- 

grinding chips

- 

excess heating over 70

°

 C

the functional capability of the ITS head airbag can be impaired. In
extreme cases, it will not be able to function at all!
