5 Series E39 530d (M57) TOUR
Disconnect plug (1).
Unlock glow plug relay (2) and remove upwards.
All cars:
Slacken nut (1).
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 12 21 3AZ .
Detach glow plug relay (3) from positive lead (2) and remove.
The relay is activated directly by the control module of the Digital
Diesel Electronics (DDE).
Read out fault memory of DDE control unit.
Check stored fault messages.
Rectify faults and clear fault memory.
