Removing and installing complete front axle
(with spring struts) (Basis)
After assembly, bleed power steering system,
refer to 32 13 006.
Remove steering wheel,
refer to 32 33 000.
Unscrew and remove splash guard.
Disconnect ABS pulse generator line,
refer to MG 34.
Brake caliper lines remain connected - remove on left and
right and tie back to body,
refer to MG 34.
Release screw connection of engine mount.
Suspend engine in installation position with special tool.
Described in:
Removing oil sump.
Remove clamping screw and remove joint from steering gear.
Installation:
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 32 31 1AZ.
Recycling:
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.
Draw power steering fluid out of tank - do not reuse.
