Removing and installing a steering
knuckle/wheel carrier (touring)
Vehicle with coil springs:
Tension coil spring,
refer to 33 53 ... Leaving rear coil spring tensioned on
vehicle.
Caution!
Vehicle with air suspension:
Pull retainer off air supply unit to ensure that accidental
feedback control of the system cannot occur.
Loosen pipes on distributor block to release system pressure. The
vehicle stands low.
Installation:
Refer to Technical Data 37 12 3AZ.
Tightening torque,
Raise wheel carrier with workshop hoist.
Unfasten bolt on wheel carrier.
