5 Series E39 530d (M57) TOUR
Unfasten screws and remove wheel bearing.
The contact faces (2) of wheel bearing and wheel carrier and the
tapped bores (1) must be clean and free of grease.
Install new wheel bearing.
Bottom screws: 1/2 " socket wrench with joint
Upper screws: 1/2 " socket wrench with extension
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 33 41 2AZ .
Apply light coat of oil to drive flange (1), attach drive flange on
spline of output shaft and tighten it down with special tool
33 2 115 / 116 / 118.
Replace collar nut (1). Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 33 41 3AZ .
Secure collar nut by peening on flat areas of output shaft!
