5 Series E39 M5 (S62) SAL
Remove main bearing caps 1 to 5.
Lever out crankshaft.
Caution!
Note grinding stage of crankshaft,
refer to Technical Data.
If necessary, remove sprocket wheel:
Release screw in bore (1).
Detach sprocket wheel from crankshaft.
Note:
The sprocket wheel is secured with an adapter sleeve to the
crankshaft.
Installation:
Check adapter sleeve for damage and correct installation
position.
