5 Series E39 M5 (S62) SAL
E39 only:
For a better overview, the following work step is shown on an
engine that has been removed.
Location:
Under left cable duct.
Release screws (1).
Remove fuel line holder (2).
Caution!
Fuel is pressurized.
Catch and dispose of fuel as it escapes.
Follow instructions for unlocking fuel line.
Unlock fuel line (1).
Disconnect complete injection pipe.
E52 only:
Caution!
Fuel is pressurized.
Catch and dispose of fuel as it escapes.
Follow instructions for unlocking fuel line.
Unlock fuel line (1).
Release screw.
Disconnect complete injection pipe.
E39 and E52:
Note:
Interrogate fault memory of DME control module.
Check stored fault messages.
Rectify faults.
Then clear fault memory.
