Support exhaust system with special tool 31 2 220 .
(weight approx. 50 kg)
Detach suspension element on catalytic converters at rear from
body.
Unscrew catalytic converter on left and right from exhaust
manifolds.
Note:
The connections between exhaust manifolds and the catalytic
converter are only fitted with sealing rings on the inner tubes.
(1) Without sealing ring (outer)
(2) With sealing ring (inner)
Installation:
Check sealing rings, replace if necessary.
Replace self-locking nuts.
Coat threads with copper paste,
refer to BMW Parts Service.
