5 Series E39 M5 (S62) SAL
Installation:
Coat thread (1) with Loctite 243 thread locking compound.
Coat sealing surface (2) with Loctite 518 sealing compound.
Remove shims.
Note:
If a new output flange is installed, you must recalculate the
shims.
Pull off output flange with a commercially available puller.
Note:
If output flange shows traces of heavy wear, install a new
output flange and recalculate shims.
Installation:
Coat sealing lips of radial seal, sealing surface of output
flange and spline shaft with gear oil.
Press on output flange with special tool 23 3 010 and tighten
down to tightening torque 200 Nm.
Grip output flange with special tool 23 0 020 .
