If nominal pump pressure,
refer to Technical Data,
is exceeded by more than 10
%
- replace vane pump.
If nominal pump pressure,
refer to Technical Data,
is undershot by more than 10
%
- check ribbed V-belt tension. If
ribbed V-belt tension is O.K., replace vane pump.
Checking power steering:
1.
Engine not started.
2.
Limit steering lock 1/2 - 3/4 steering-wheel turns before
reaching the left limit stop (wood etc.).
3.
Open valve (B).
4.
Close valve (A).
5.
Start engine.
6.
Pull steering wheel with special tool 64 1 100 at 100 N for
approx. 5 seconds against left lock and read off pressure.
7.
Limit right limit stop and conduct measurement at right limit
position.
The steering gear must be replaced if the pressures are below the
previously determined nominal pump pressure.
Installation:
Remove special tool 32 4 000 and replace sealing rings on
banjo bolts.
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 32 41 3AZ.
Bleed hydraulic system,
refer to 32 13 006.
