5 Series E60 520d (M47T2) SAL

Removing and installing/replacing starter
motor (M47T2)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Read fault memory of DDE control unit
•
Switch off ignition
•
Disconnect battery negative lead
•
E87, E60, E61 only: Remove intake air manifold
Slacken nut (1).
Remove battery positive leads (2).
Release nut (3) and disconnect control line.
Installation:
Tightening torque 12 41 4AZ
.
Unfasten screws.
Installation:
Tightening torque 12 41 1AZ
.
Pull starter motor (1) out of transmission flange, lift and rear and
remove.
Note:
Check stored fault messages.
Now clear the fault memory.
