Replacing cylinder head gasket (N47, N47S)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove cylinder head.
The cylinder head gasket is designed as a sheet metal gasket.
Pay attention to number of holes (1).
Highest piston clearance at measuring points (1 and 2) of all
4 pistons determines thickness of cylinder head gasket.
Piston protrusion up to 0.92 mm

Install 1 hole cylinder head gasket.
Piston clearance >0.92 ... 1.03 mm

Install 2 hole cylinder head gasket.
Piston protrusion greater than >1.03 ... 1.18 mm

Install 3 hole cylinder head gasket.
Assemble engine.
