Special tools database

All

Situation: 

Over the years, the stock of special tools has assumed a scope which now requires a
modern data administration system. For this reason, we have answered the numerous
requests by developing a special tools database.

The complete special tools database comprises four diskettes:

- Diskettes 1 to 3: application program "Spectool"

- Diskette 4: current special tools database "Car tools"

The database will allow us to answer questions from the dealer organisation about any
special tool quickly, precisely and unbureaucratically.

As the special tools supplier (Cartool) also has access to the same program, any queries
can be dealt with directly. This should largely avoid misunderstandings and greatly improve
customer service.

The application program also allows scopes of tools to be compiled, which will vastly
simplify the task of workshop equipment planning. Either the complete scope of special
tools or a minimum scope recommended by BMW can be used as the basis for a desired
compilation. Both scopes can limited to refer to certain model series, versions, engines or
transmissions.

The scopes of tools compiled in groups can be printed out in the form of a list of tools,
stored by name or processed further at a later point in time.

The complete application program is multilingual. The languages English, French, German,
Italian, Dutch, Swedish and Spanish are available at present.

The application program is protected by copyright. For this reason, 
a royalty fee must be charged for its use.

Hardware specifications

PC 80486 or higher 
Main memory 16 MB RAM (e.g. Windows NT 4.0 32 MB RAM) 
hard drive 25 MB for operation, 55 MB to load special tools database records 
Diskette drive 3.5" 1.44 MB

Software specifications

One of the following Microsoft Windows systems: 
Windows 3.1x, Windows 95, Windows NT 3.51 or Windows NT 4.0

Procedure:

The complete special tools database is available on four diskettes and will only be delivered
to order. 

Please refer to Enclosure 1.

The various program functions are explained in the help texts, which can be called up as
required.

Special tools data will be revised at regular intervals and updates will be compiled with all
