Removing and installing / replacing exhaust
turbocharger (M57T2)

Warning!

Scalding hazard!

Only perform these tasks on an engine that has cooled down.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove right engine support arm

Remove primary catalytic converter

Remove right pressure pipe

Remove intake duct for intake noise damping

Disconnect clean air pipe between air-mass sensor and

turbocharger

Important!

In event of turbocharger damage:

Pressure pipes

Intercooler

Intake air manifold

must be checked for foreign bodies, damage and operation.

Release banjo bolt (1).

Installation:

Tightening torque  11 42 2AZ

.

Replace sealing rings.

Note:

Catch escaping engine oil in a suitable container.

Disconnect plug connection (2).

Release clamp (3).
