5 Series E60 525d (M57TU) SAL
Unfasten screws (1).
Unscrew bolt (2).
Remove oil measuring tube (3).
Disconnect plug connection (4) on oil level sensor.
Release screws (1).
Loosen screws (2).
Release screws along line (3).
Move oil pan backwards.
Tightening torque:11 13 2AZ
.
Installation:
Tighten down all screws diagonally and evenly.
Remove gasket (1).
Remove gasket remnants from sealing surfaces (2) and clean.
Apply a thin and even coating of Drei Bond 1209 liquid sealant
(sourcing reference: BMW Parts Service) in area (1)

at partition levels
•
at end cover to engine block
Important!
Oil sump gasket must not be lubricated. Observe different
tightening torques of M6 and M8 screws.
Install oil sump with a new gasket.
