5 Series E60 525d (M57TU) SAL
Mount sprocket wheel and release chain tensioner.
Cams of both camshafts must point to top right.
Fit special tool 11 6 321 on inlet camshaft.
Secure special tool 11 6 321 with special tool 11 6 322 .
Installation:
The exhaust camshaft only has to be checked, adjustment is not
possible.
Secure special tool 11 6 254 to cylinder head with bolts (1).
Note:
See illustration.
Check inlet camshaft axial clearance.
Set up special tool 11 6 252 with dial gauge.
Refer to Technical Data.
Procedure for exhaust camshaft is identical.
Adjust valve timing.
Assemble engine.
