Removing and installing/replacing heat
exchanger for automatic transmission
(M57TU, M57T2)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove engine underbody protection
•
Drain coolant
•
Remove reinforcement plate
Recycling:
Catch and dispose of coolant and ATF in a suitable container.
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.
Release coolant hose (1).
Release screw (2).
Release lines (5).
Release screws (6).
Remove heat exchanger (7).
Installation:
Automatic transmission: check fluid level (topping up if
necessary).
Check cooling system for leaks.
