Removing and installing/replacing starter
motor (S85)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Switch off ignition
•
Disconnect battery negative lead and cover
•
Remove reinforcement plate
•
Remove rear underbody protection
•
Remove propeller shaft
•
Remove intake air manifold
•
Remove right idle speed actuator
Unlock plug (1) and remove.
Unfasten nut.
Tightening torque 12 41 2AZ.
Remove battery positive lead (2).
Release screw (1).
Unfasten screws (2).
Tightening torque 12 41 1AZ
.
Pull starter motor out of transmission mount and remove.
Installation:
Check starter pinion and ring gear for damage, replace
damaged parts if necessary.
