Removing and installing/replacing battery
positive lead between starter and jump-start
connection point (N43)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Read out fault memory of DME control unit
•
Switch off ignition
•
Disconnect battery negative lead
•
Follow instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery
•
Remove intake air manifold
Disconnect B+ lead at jump start terminal.
Tightening torque 12 42 2AZ
.
Disconnect B+ lead at starter.
Tightening torque 12 42 10AZ
.
Disconnect B+ lead at alternator.
Tightening torque 12 42 5AZ
.
Note:
Check stored fault messages.
Now clear the fault memory.
