5 Series E61 530d (M57TU) TOUR
Slacken screw (1) on hydraulic chain tensioner (for oil pressure
reduction).
Rotate inlet camshaft (E) at hexagon (2) slowly and carefully in
direction of engine rotation until hydraulic chain tensioner is
pressed together.
Insert special tool 11 3 340 into chain tensioner (1).
Caution!
If the sprocket wheel is removed without the hydraulic chain
tensioner being locked, the chain tensioner piston will slip out
and can then only be pressed back again with a considerable
amount of effort.
Caution!
Do not release bolts.
