Removing and installing/replacing front left or
right lower strap (belt tensioner)
Warning!
Read and comply with safety regulations for handling airbag
modules and pyrotechnical belt tensioners.
Incorrect handling can trigger off the bet tensioner and cause
injury.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Disconnect battery negative lead
•
Follow instructions for unlocking and locking airbag plug
connections.
•
Remove front seat
Note:
If a seat belt which is damaged due to an accident is exchanged,
always check the belt tensioner retaining bracket on the seat rail
for damage (bending) and replace if necessary.
A bent seatbelt tensioner retaining bracket on the seat runner may
make it impossible to adjust the height of the seat!
Detach cable strap (2).
Unlock plug connection (1) for belt tensioner and disconnect.
Release screw (3) and remove belt tensioner.
Tightening torque 72 11 06AZ
.
Installation:
Replace microencapsulated screw.
Replace cable strap.
Plug connection (1) on belt tensioner must not be under strain.
