Replacing convertible top compartment lid
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove convertible top compartment lid
•
Remove trim on convertible top compartment lid
•
Remove seal between trim and convertible top compartment
lid
•
Remove front seal
Release screws on striker (1) and remove striker (1).
Tightening torque 51 17 5AZ
.
Release screws on holder for drive cylinder (2) and remove holder (2).
Tightening torque 51 17 7AZ
.
Up to 09/2004:
If necessary, unscrew bump stop (3).
From 09/2004:
Release expander rivet on spacer plate and remove bump stop (3).
Installation:
Replace spacer plate.
