7 Series E32 750iL (M70) SAL
Screw new self-locking nut onto piston rod until flush.
Make sure upper and lower spring ends (1) are correctly seated in
spring plates (3) and protective supports (2).
Tighten with a standard socket wrench (1) in conjunction with
insertion tool (2) for torque wrench (24 A/F), gripping internal
hexagon with a small ratchet and extension.
Tightening torque 31 31 2AZ.
Important!
Screw connection of support bearing to piston rod must not
be tightened with impact screwdriver!
Only relieve tension on special tool until spring coils can move
freely.
With aid of a second person, remove spring strut with spring
retainers from special tool 31 3 341 and place to one side.
Remove both spring retainers 31 3 355 from spring strut.
