7 Series E38 728i (M52TU) SAL
Identify part number of sound insulation of instrument panel trim.
Part number is located in area (1).
Recondition sound insulation for instrument panel trim with Part
No. 51 48 8174828, in direction of travel, right, in accordance with
following instructions:
Mark spot (1) at edge of area (4).
Extend edge (3) up to edge and mark out spot (2) at edge of
sound insulation for instrument panel trim.
Connect spots (1) and (2) with cutting line (5).
Determine and mark out corner points (3) and (4).
Spot (3) is located in rear bottom corner of area (5).
Spot (4) is located in front bottom corner.
Connect remaining spots with cutting line (6).
Cut out sound insulation for instrument panel trim along marked
cutting line at an angle.
Area (5) becomes an angled area after cutting.
Mark spot (1) at top corner of area (4).
Mark spot (2) at bottom corner of area (4).
Connect spots (1) and (2) with cutting line (3).
Cut out sound insulation for instrument panel trim along marked
cutting line at an angle.
Area (4) becomes an angled area after cutting.
