Removing and installing / replacing all brake
shoes of the parking brake

Remove rear brake disk,

refer to 34 21 320.

Installation:

Adjust parking brake,

refer to 34 41 006.

Disconnect return springs with brake spring pliers.

Installation:

Check recoil springs and replace if necessary.

Twist clamping pins with special tool 34 4 000 through 90

°

 and

disconnect.

Remove brake shoes.

Note:

Figure illustrates right side: left side is mirror image of this.

Installation:

Note installation position of adjusting screws (1) and (2). 

Coat thread of bush (1) and screw (2) with grease, refer to BMW
Service Operating Fluids.
