Emergency power siren
E31, E36, E38
Situation:
An autonomous emergency power siren is to be introduced on vehicles equipped with an
anti-theft alarm (DWA) at the beginning of MY '96. This emergency power siren also goes
off when the DWA has been primed, even after the vehicle power supply has been
tampered with.
Effect:
The alarm goes off if the main battery switch (option 818) is switched off after the DWA has
been primed.
Affected
vehicles:
E31, E36, E38 with main battery switch(option 818)
Period of manufacture: as from 09/95
Procedure:
Please adhere to the following sequence when switching off the main battery switch:
1.
Switch off the main battery switch
2.
Lock the vehicle mechanically
