Weld side member cover joint.

Fit individual welding spots so close together that a continuous
seam is created.

Caution!

Locate welding spots in a way which prevents distortion
caused by heat elongation. Ensure that welded areas have
cooled sufficiently.

Danger of distortion!

Grind down connection points.

Fit spare C-pillar, define separating points and cut out.

Caution!

Note:

If possible, manufacture reinforcement plate from metal scrap
from spare part.

Clean connection point.

Manufacture reinforcement plate and fit.

Reinforcement plate width = approx. 60 mm

Drill holes in C-pillar for plug welding of the reinforcement plate.

Clean connection point and reinforcement plate.

Coat reinforcement plate and connection point on spare part with
zinc dust paint.

Insert reinforcement plate approx. 30 mm into cover for side
member and weld up.

Secure reinforcement plate and weld up.

Grind down connection points.
