Replacing left rear side panel (partial
replacement)
Work instructions,
refer to General Information about body repairs
Remove following parts or loosen them:
Rear bumper
Trunk trim panels
Rear wheel
Luggage compartment lid
Hinge for trunk lid
Battery
Left tail light assembly
Rear wire harness (partially)
Spare wheel
Breather flap
Active carbon filter
Caution!
Seal connections on active carbon filter to ensure that no fuel
vapour can escape!
Remove or cover up other vehicle components in the repair zone
which are at risk from heat, flying sparks and dust.
Define and mark out cutting line down roof gutter.
Dimension (A) = 130 mm from edge of roof gutter to rear window.
Mark dimension (A) over edge of side panel.
Dimension (B) = 50 mm from standard connection point.
Join marked cutting line along roof gutter with end of wheel
housing.
Dimension (A) = 130 mm from edge of roof gutter.
Cut off along cutting lines.
