Removing and installing/replacing positive
battery lead (between alternator and positive
battery terminal on cylinder head cover) (M60,
M62)
Observe safety instructions for handling vehicle battery.
Instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery,
refer to General Information MG 12.
Switch off ignition.
Remove battery negative line.
Unfasten clips (1).
If fitted, unfasten hose clip (2) on air intake hose for air pump.
Disconnect plug-in connection (3).
Unfasten hose clip (4).
Remove upper section of suction filter housing with mass air flow
sensor.
Remove accelerator cables (1 and 2).

Cruise control
Remove complete throttle assembly,
refer to 13 54 060.
Unfasten screw connection on oil filter.
