Replacing tailpipe on left or right rear muffler
Exhaust system removed.
Remove and install complete exhaust system,
refer to 18 00 020.
Remove tailpipe (1) by cutting welded seam with grinding tool.
Note:
Tailpipe is inserted approx. 15 to 20 mm in rear muffler.
Grind off remaining welding bead on rear muffler. Remove
remaining pipe section from rear muffler.
Deburr rear muffler.
Insert new tail pipe in rear muffler and align vertically downwards.
Tack-weld tail pipe, check position then weld tail pipe on firmly.
Caution!
Rear muffler and tail pipe are made of stainless steel. Always
use appropriate type of welding rod for welding this material.
