Key areas of complaint
A5S 560Z (5HP30)
Situation:
The A5S 560Z automatic transmission has been fitted on all vehicles with M60 B40 or M73
B54 engine since the start of series production.
To speed up diagnosis of any faults which may arise on the above transmission, we would
request that you adopt the measures contained in Enclosure 1.
Important:
This Service Information bulletin does not apply to the US versions of the listed
models.
Affected vehicles:
540iA with EGS from the start of series production up to 8/93
540iA with AGS as from 9/93
740iA/E32 throughout entire series production
740iA/E38 since the start of series production
750iA/E38 since the start of series production
840iA since the start of series production
850iA/M73 since the start of series production

Note:
There is no EPROM service solution available for the Swiss and Austrian national
versions with EGS variant, i.e. data version 3232. Please contact the relevant
subsidiary in the event of this complaint arising.
