Install camshafts.
In insertion position, recesses in camshafts point
approx. 30 ... 40
°
downwards from the surface of the cylinder
head.
Caution!
Do not mix up camshaft bearing covers of cylinders 1 to 4
and 5 to 8.
Fit bearing covers.
Note:
The exhaust camshaft bearing covers are legibly designated
from the intake side with the letters A1 ... A5.
Note:
The intake camshaft bearing covers are legibly designated
from the intake side with the letters E1 ... E5.
Evenly tighten down bearing covers on camshafts for cylinder
bank 5-8 in 1/2 turn steps from outside to inside.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 31 1AZ.
