BMW Business radio C23: CD mode intermittently interrupted
E38, E39
Complaint:
Operation of the 6-CD changer is intermittently interrupted. No sound can be heard for the
duration of the interruption.
Cause:
Software error in BMW Business on-board monitor radio.
Affected
vehicles:
E38, E39 with on-board monitor radio (option 602) or navigation system (option 609).
Manufacturing period: start of series production up to August 1998.
Procedure:
In case of customer complaint, replace the BMW Business on-board monitor radio.
Please refer to Repair Instructions 65 11 055
Exchanging the 6-CD changer will not remedy the situation as the cause of the interruption
is in the radio.
