Removing and installing/replacing
flywheel/automatic (M57TU)
Special tools required:
•
11 9 260
•
11 9 263
•
11 9 264
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Disconnect battery negative terminal.
•
Remove and install center equipment compartment bulkhead
(E65 only).
•
Remove tension strut (E60 only)
•
Remove and install underbody protection.
•
Remove and install complete exhaust system.
•
Remove and install reinforcing plate.
•
Remove and install automatic transmission.
Block flywheel (1) with special tool. 11 9 260 / 11 9 263 /
11 9 264 .
Unfasten flywheel screws.
Remove flywheel (1).
Installation:
Flywheel (1) is secured with an alignment pin.
Fit new flywheel screws.
Clean crankshaft thread for flywheel screws.
Installation:
Tightening torque 11 22 1AZ
