7 Series E65 740d (M67) SAL
Lift out retaining ring and press out piston pin.
Caution!
Piston and piston pin are matched to each other.
They must not be mixed up.
Installation:
Installation of all pistons is described separately from removal.
Assembly sequence for removal and installation is different.
Caution!
Before installing pistons, check oil spray nozzles for damage
or deformation.
Replace damaged or deformed oil spray nozzles.
To replace oil spray nozzles:
Loosen screws (1).
Remove oil spray nozzle (2).
Before installation, measure piston installation clearance. Measure
piston diameter with micrometer at measuring point A from bottom
edge of piston and offset at 90
°
to the axis of the piston pin.
