7 Series E65 740d (M67) SAL
Remove plug (1) from transmission bell housing.
Crank engine at vibration damper with special tool 11 6 480 in
direction of rotation to shortly before TDC.
Continue to crank engine slowly.
Insert special tool 11 2 300 into alignment bore (1) in flywheel.
Note:
The engine is correctly set when markings face upwards at
camshafts (1).
For camshafts which have no markings, the cams must be
positioned as in the following layout.

refer to 11 31 ...
Caution!
If the engine is not correctly aligned, rotate the crankshaft through
360
°
in the direction of rotation and realign.
