7 Series E65 740d (M67) SAL
Remove and install fan cowl,
refer to 17 1 031.
Remove water pump,
refer to 11 51 000.
Remove left cylinder head cover,
refer to 11 12 005.
Remove right cylinder head cover,
refer to 11 12 006.
Remove radial seal on crankshaft sprocket wheel,
refer to 11 14 145.
Remove oil pump,
refer to 11 41 000.
Remove oil dipstick guide,
refer to 11 43 000.
The following work steps describe how to remove the timing chain
gears on the camshafts and to adjust the timing.
Remove both left/right camshafts,
refer to 11 31 013/017.
Release screws (1) on oil spray nozzles.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 11 7AZ.
Caution!
Risk of oil spray nozzle (1) breakage.
Carefully move both oil spray nozzles (1) back and forth with
pointed pliers (2).
Slowly withdraw both oil spray nozzles (1).
