Removing and installing/replacing airbag
module on left or right rear door
Warning!
Read and comply with safety regulations for handling airbag
modules and pyrotechnical belt tensioners.
Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Disconnect battery negative lead
Follow instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery.
•
Remove rear door trim
Release screw (1).
Release nuts (2) and remove holder (3).
Installation:
Tightening torque: 72 12 01AZ
.
Coat nut and thread with paint (any color and type can be
chosen).
Fold back tabs (1) of plastic housing and remove airbag
module (2) from airbag mounting.
Installation:
There must be no foreign objects (e.g. screws, nuts etc.) in the
airbag mounting in the door trim panel.
