Tightening torque  72 12 04AZ

Remove AHPS1 (1).

Detach felt strip (1) from gas generator.

Installation:

Replace felt strip (1) in event of damage or poor adhesion.

Unlock plug (2) on gas generator of AHPS1 head airbag and
detach.

Note:

To release nut (1), use joint socket 10 A/F, drive 1/4 ''. Insert joint
socket from below between gas generator and instrument panel
trim and fit on nut (1).

Note:

Nuts may fall out slightly after being released. If necessary, place
some butyl in socket.

Release nuts (1 and 2).

Pull gas generator (3) out of mounting.

Installation:

Replace self-locking nuts.

Place nut (1) on threaded pin and turn twice.

Insert gas generator into mounting (2).
