Release parking brake.

Start dynamometer.
7.
Activate parking brake with button or actuating lever as follows:

Model series E65 / 7 Series > Press button

Model series E70 / X5 > Pull actuating lever
Duo-servo brake (actuating unit) is applied. Dynamometer shuts down after
wheels lock (slip) or vehicle is pushed out of dynamometer.
8.
Deactivate parking brake with button or actuating lever as follows:
-
Model series E65 / 7 Series > Press button
-
Model series E70 / X5 > Press actuating lever and simultaneously press
service brake pedal.
Duo-servo brake (actuating unit) is released.
9.
Read off maximum brake forces on left / right.
2.2 Assessment:
Note:
The sum of the brake forces (left and right) must be greater than 16 % of the
gross vehicle weight.
Example 1:
Gross vehicle weight of E65 / 735i = 2500 kg
Sum of minimum brake force left / right
≥
4000 N
Example 2:
Gross vehicle weight of E70 / X5 = 3200 kg
Sum of minimum brake force left / right
≥
5100 N
Note:
The parking brake must work on both sides of an axle!
There are no further requirements with regard to right/left deviation, i.e. this may be
> 50 % (see example, Fig.6).
