Replacing left cylinder head gasket (M67TU)
Important!
Clean sealing surfaces.
Remove remnants of oil and dirt from pocket holes.
Jointing torque and angle of rotation must be observed
without fail.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove left cylinder head.
Without working on crankshaft drive or piston to alter piston
protrusion, use a new cylinder head gasket with same thickness
marking (1) (number of holes).
This illustration shows a 1-hole cylinder head gasket.
Place new cylinder head gasket in position.
Check guide sleeves (1 and 2) for damage and correct seating.
Installation:
Cylinder head gaskets for cylinders 1 to 4 and 5 to 8 are
different.
Reinstall cylinder head gasket.
