7 Series E65 745d (M67TU) SAL
Crank engine at vibration damper with special tool 11 6 480 in
direction of rotation to shortly before TDC.
Continue to crank engine slowly.
Insert special tool 11 5 180 into alignment bore on flywheel.
Note:
The engine is correctly aligned when the markings on the
crankshaft face each other on the sides.
Illustration shows cyl. 5 to 8.
Important!
If the engine is not correctly aligned, rotate the crankshaft
through 360
°
in the direction of rotation and realign.
Both markings point to each other at the sides a produce a
horizontal to the cylinder head.
The cams at the 1st cylinder of the inlet camshaft point vertically
upwards.
The cams at the 1st cylinder of the exhaust camshaft point
horizontally to the intake manifold.
