Checking cooling system for water leaks
(M67, M67TU, M57T2)
Special tools required:

17 0 101
•
17 0 102
•
17 0 105
•
17 0 106
Warning!
Danger of scalding!
Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.
Checking for leaks in cooling circuit:
Illustrations show M67:
Open cap on coolant expansion tank.
Check sealing surfaces, clean if necessary.
Screw in special tool 17 0 105 .
Connect special tools 17 0 101 / 17 0 102 .
Build up gauge pressure of 1.5 bar, wait approx. 2 minutes.
Cooling system is leak-free if pressure drop is max. 0.1 bar.
Checking pressure relief valve in cap:
Note:
Coolant residue can cause the pressure relief valve in the cap to
stick, therefore repeat the check procedure on the cap 2-3 times.
