X Series E53 X5 3.0i (M54) OFFRD
Lift spring washer (1) out of groove and push to one side.
Press dowel pin (2) upwards/downwards out of shift rod joint.
Remove shift rod joint.
Installation:
Grease ball of transmission selector shaft.
Grease,
refer to BMW Service Operating Fluids.
Replace spring washer.
Shift transmission into 2nd gear.
Screw in special tool 23 0 210 until it is firmly connected to radial
seal (1).
Remove radial seal with special tool 23 0 210 .
Coat sealing lips on radial seal and selector shaft with
transmission oil.
Drive in radial seal with special tool 23 0 220 .
